Objective 2 – It’s Friendlier in Falkirk (Safe and Secure)

Helping to make the town centre users feel safer during the day and evening economy periods

After extensive research in 2007 the businesses of Falkirk indicated that their second priority was 'Its Friendlier in Falkirk'. In response to this the BID has delivered:

3 Taxi Marshals who deliver a year-round service.
The BID's Street Ambassadors help reduce shoplifting incidents, interact with local businesses and liaise with Falkirk Council.
A Business Crime Reduction Partnership - working with Central Scotland Police, Falkirk Council, the Scottish Business Crime Centre and Forth Valley CCTV Management Group.
Best Bar None Scheme.
Pubwatch scheme in partnership with licensed premises, Central Scotland Police and Falkirk Council.
Child Safe Scheme.
Co-ordination of the Radio Link Scheme.

Best Bar None (BBN) was introduced in the summer of 2008, where 12 licensed premises took part and achieved a BBN award, the awards ceremony was held in City Nightclub October 2008. BBN 2009 was a huge success with a further 8 premises given an award. The award ceremony was held in Behind the Wall and the successful premises include:

Voodoo Lounge - Silver Award

Fullstop Bar & Restaurant - Silver Award

Carron Works - Silver Award

Earl of Zetland - Silver Award
