Making sure the BID adds value
To monitor the performance of the BID and ensure all projects and services delivered by the BID are additional to those delivered by Falkirk Council and Central Scotland Police, there will be a Service Level Agreement between the BID and Falkirk Council and the BID and Central Scotland Police.

A baseline of information has been established which clarifies what Falkirk Council and Central Scotland Police deliver. It also gives an assurance to the levy payers that the current statutory level of service to the BID area will not be reduced after a successful ballot.

Keep Scotland Beautiful will also be commissioned to conduct a full and detailed report to ensure Falkirk does not fall below the agreed cleanliness standards set out in the Baseline and Service Level Agreement.

The services already provided by Falkirk Council

Falkirk Council provides the following services (both statutory and discretionary) within the BID area:
  • Street Furniture
  • Planting
  • Public conveniences
  • Waste removal
  • Street lighting
  • Road maintenance
  • Ground maintenance
  • Street cleansing
  • Christmas decorations and lighting
  • Funding and support

Baseline Information provided by Superintendent Robbie McGregor, Central Scotland Police

In keeping with the objectives of the BID I would see Central Scotland Police contributing to the overall aim by specifically contributing to the objectives of the BID. We will do this by:-

Providing two dedicated Community Police officers, supported by other members of the Community Policing Team. The Town Centre Community Police Officers will work with partner agencies and other groups, to address local concerns and to provide a highly visible police presence.

"I support the Falkirk BID because I believe that Falkirk has a bright future and with the support of local businesses it will allow the delivery if the business plan which will lead to significant improvements in the town centre environment."
